Abstract

Algebric computing (AC) has been used successfully in General Relativity (GR). In this paper the applications of AC to Ashtekar variables are discussed. Ashtekar variables, a recent break through in the field of GR, has a number of applications to classical and quantum gravity. A summary of Ashtekar variables is given and its applications are elaborated. The work (in collaboration with A. Giannopoulos) which uses AC system STENSOR for computation of Ashtekar variables, is also discussed.
