Abstract

As the digital media continue to expand at a high rate, consumers demand their advertisements to be immersive, visually pleasing, and user-friendly, but previous studies focused more on these aspects separately. This study investigates how integrating interactive technologies (IT), artistic design (AD), and interface design (ID) into advertising influences user engagement (UE) and advertising effectiveness (AE). It aims to explore how these elements shape consumer preferences, create favorable brand perception (BP), and ultimately drive purchasing behavior. A mixed-method approach was adopted. The quantitative data were gathered through an online survey among 384 users of digital media, and semi-structured interviews with six advertising professionals and six technology experts were conducted to provide the qualitative data. Statistical analysis was performed with the help of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and AMOS, and thematic coding of qualitative data was performed using NVivo. The findings indicate that the implementation of IT, AD, and ID is effective in enhancing UE, which subsequently strengthens BP and AE. Moreover, ID and AD exert a direct positive influence on BP, and UE and BP are the key mediating mechanisms in the formation of advertising outcomes. The study is unique in highlighting the synergistic effects of technological and artistic integration on consumer interaction and BP, which can be effectively applied by marketers to optimize digital advertising campaigns and strengthen consumer relationships.
