Economics of geothermal energy development (In Imperial County, California)

Abstract

The geothermal resources in Imperial County appear to have the potential of developing somewhere between 3000 and 6000 mW of power. At 3000 mW, the geothermal energy would add 9% to present installed capacity in California. By the year 2000, geothermal energy might supply about 4–5% of total capacity at that time.
