Abstract

Executives’ green cognition represents the advanced concept of corporate environmental strategy and is an important driving force for enterprises to achieve high-quality green transformation. This paper systematically analyzes the internal mechanism of executives’ green cognition to improve the high-quality green transformation of enterprises, and discusses the possible complementary effects of green technology innovation. The study finds that the green cognition of executives has a significant role in promoting the high-quality green transformation of enterprises, and its core mechanism is to alleviate the financing constraints of enterprises and enhance the investment in environmental protection. Green technology innovation can also encourage high-quality green transformation of enterprises and further strengthen its positive impact on the quality of transformation. In the eastern developed regions, regions with strong environmental regulation and enterprises in non-polluting industries, the driving effects of executives ' green cognition and green technology innovation are more prominent. The research conclusion provides important theoretical enlightenment and practical reference for leading the deep and systematic green transformation of enterprises by improving the green cognition of executives.
