Abstract

Foster care alumni face unique challenges during the transition to parenthood due to childhood experiences of trauma, separation from biological parents, and exposure to multiple, often contradictory parenting models. Despite extensive research on foster care outcomes, limited attention has been given to understanding how these early experiences shape the transition to parenthood and parenting practices among foster care alumni.
