Abstract

Inspired in some well-known experimental cases, where non symmetrical configurations appear, we present a model of three Diffusion Limited Aggregation (DLA) clusters and focus on the central aggregate while the lateral clusters are moving apart from it over an axis that joins the three of them, so the central one can be view as an object under the effect of a (ghost) field. We assessed three different statistical measures of similarity for this central cluster as its morphology evolves due different distances d between seeds and different maximum number N of particles for any given cluster, so our similarity measures are functions s(d,N). For the cluster studied, the central one in our setting A, s(d,N) presents a robust dependency on the type of similarity measure selected, although some general trends can be derived. Our findings suggest some key aspects to correctly evaluate the influence of the environment on the final morphology of a particular aggregate exposed to a field.
