Abstract

We analyse the evolution of industry, foreign trade and tourism in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay during the decade 1990-2000, and we present some econometric models which show the important positive impact of industrial growth on Gdp. We also analyse the contribution of foreign trade of goods and tourism service to development. The results show that the low levels of increase in the real value of industry by inhabitant has been the main cause of economic development stagnation so in Mercosur as in the majority of Latin American countries.
