Abstract

We present a farewell message from the Editor of the journal Applied Econometrics and International Development (AEID), published by the Euro-American Association of Economic Development Studies (EAAEDS). After 24 years of intense publishing activity, our small Association and the Editorial Team are passing the torch to other researchers who, with renewed energy and more resources, decide to launch or promote other academic journals with similar objectives of boosting economic development and international quality of life. The journal has published 600 articles by 1000 authors from all over the World, usually classified in 5 sections (1) International Comparisons. 2) Europe and Eurasia. 3) America. 4) Africa and Middle East, and 5) Asia and Pacific). It is included in prestigious bibliographical databases. We are grateful to the members of the Editorial Board, authors, readers and other supporters that have contributed to therecognition, academic success and wide dissemination of the journal. In year 2024 it was among top 110 journals of Economics research by accumulated total downloads and among top 40 journals by downloads per item, out of 4100 journals at Ideas.Repec.We expect a lasting readership and citations, of many of its interesting contents, for the next years. Section 1 includes a farewell message. Section 2 includes a brief history of the Association and the journal. Section 3 expresses thanks to contributors. Section 4 cites the most downloaded articles by geographical area published for 2001-2024, and includes a Guide to articles of the period 2020-2024.
