Deutsche Wirtschaft in Wohlfühlkonjunktur: Grundlinien der Wirtschaftsentwicklung im Sommer 2017

Abstract

Die deutsche Wirtschaft befindet sich derzeit in einer Wohlfühlkonjunktur: Die Zahl der Beschäftigten hat historische Höchststände erreicht und klettert kräftig weiter. Die Einkommen der privaten Haushalte steigen und die öffentlichen Kassen sind prall gefüllt. Die Inflation zieht nur allmählich an – auch weil die Kapazitäten nicht übermäßig ausgelastet sind. Die Stimmung unter VerbraucherInnen wie auch unter UnternehmerInnen ist ausgezeichnet und passend dazu ist auch die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung breit angelegt: Der Dienstleistungsbereich profitiert von der Ausgabefreude der VerbraucherInnen und die Industrie darüber hinaus von robusten Exporten. Die Unsicherheiten bleiben aber hoch; auch deswegen dürften die Unternehmen beim Ausbau des heimischen Kapitalstock weiterhin zögerlich bleiben. So sind mit den Brexit-Verhandlungen erhebliche Unwägbarkeiten verbunden, auch für die Handelsbeziehungen. Der Außenhandel könnte auch leiden, falls die US-Regierung stärkere protektionistische Maßnahmen durchsetzt. Eine deutliche Beschleunigung der Investitionen, wie sie in der gegenwärtigen konjunkturellen Situation eigentlich zu erwarten wäre, zeichnet sich nicht ab.
