Position Ostdeutschlands beim Export nach Polen und Tschechien ausbaufähig

Abstract

Von der Osterweiterung der EU im Jahre 2004 könnte die Exportwirtschaft in Ostdeutschland aufgrund der geographischen Nähe zu den mittel- und osteuropäischen Beitrittsländern besonders stark profitieren. Anhand der Warenexporte nach Polen und Tschechien - jenen Beitrittsländern, die an Ostdeutschland grenzen - wird gezeigt, dass für Unternehmen dort noch ein erhebliches Exportpotential besteht. Es kann allerdings nur ausgeschöpft werden, wenn der generelle Wettbewerbsrückstand ostdeutscher gegenüber westdeutschen Unternehmen weiter abgebaut wird.
