Zunehmende Dynamik im Handel Deutschlands mit der EWU

Abstract

Von der Etablierung des Binnenmarktes in der EU wurden seiner Zeit kräftige Impulse für den Handel zwischen den Partnerländern erwartet. Diese Erwartung hat sich weitgehend erfüllt. So ist die nominale Ausfuhr Deutschlands in die übrigen EWU-Länder von 1993 bis 2000 um 73 % gestiegen. Zwar hat der Außenhandel der EWU in dieser Zeit in ähnlichem Tempo wie der Intrahandel expandiert (Abbildung 1), was dafür spricht, dass der Austausch innerhalb der EWU nicht stärker zugenommen hat als die allgemeine weltwirtschaftliche Ver-flechtung. Dabei ist aber zu berücksichtigen, dass sich viele osteuropäische Länder erst in letzter Zeit in den Welthandel integriert haben und sich der Handel mit ihnen daher besonders dynamisch entwickelte.
