US-Wirtschaft im Abschwung - Wirtschaftspolitik steuert massiv gegen

Abstract

Seit dem Spätherbst des vorigen Jahres hat sich die Konjunktur in den USA deutlich abgekühlt. Das "Stottern" des Motors der Weltkonjunktur ist mittlerweile weltweit spürbar. Insbesondere der Einbruch der Investitionstätigkeit und der nur durch einen Rückgriff auf Geldvermögen, also durch ein "Entsparen", finanzierte private Verbrauch geben Anlass zur Sorge. In diesem Umfeld wird die US-amerikanische Wirtschaftspolitik ihrer konjunkturellen Verantwortung gerecht. Die Finanzpolitik stimuliert noch in diesem Jahr den privaten Verbrauch, die Geldpolitik ist auf einen kräftigen expansiven Kurs umgeschwenkt. Die Gefahr einer Inflationsbeschleunigung besteht nicht. Dass dieser geldpolitische Kurs erfolgversprechend ist, wird durch ökonometrische Simulationen gestützt.
