Abstract

This research article addresses the importance of socioemotional education in adolescents within the context of the junior high school educational process. It highlights that this stage is crucial for the comprehensive development of young people, as they face significant emotional and social challenges. Through a detailed analysis of the particularities of the educational process at this stage, the specific needs of adolescents are identified, as well as opportunities to foster their emotional well-being. The research focuses on the planning of a socio-educational project designed to enhance socioemotional education, addressing aspects such as self-awareness, empathy, emotion management and interpersonal skills. For this purpose, qualitative methods such as observation, interviews and surveys are used to obtain an in-depth view of the school reality and the perceptions of students, teachers and parents on the importance of socioemotional education. The results show that the implementation of socioemotional strategies in the classroom not only improves the school climate, but also contributes to the personal and social development of adolescents, preparing them to face the challenges of everyday life. The article concludes with recommendations for the integration of these approaches into the educational curriculum, highlighting the need to train qualified teachers and create spaces for dialogue that promote an emotionally healthy culture in schools.
