Abstract
We are currently facing one of the most important events in human evolution: the arrival of Generation Alpha at Universities by 2027, a generation where young people were born and raised in a purely digital context, got used to being alone and their daily lives include smart devices, computers, social networks and everything that has to do with an interconnected world. The study aims to describe and analyze the challenges that Universities face with the arrival of Generation Alpha. A theoretical analysis is presented based on a review of the literature about these challenges in the educational world. The theoretical and reflective analysis concludes with proposals for future applied research in higher education institutions in Mexico. This generation will mark a before and after in education and digital transformation. Today, more than ever, Universities must anticipate changes. It is the perfect time to reinvent themselves and innovate educational models in universities, as well as programs and curricular grids, redesign and increase their digital infrastructure, and above all, analyze the profile and characteristics that teachers should have, providing them with the training to face the challenge of educating the Alpha Generation, who will break borders, will not follow the rules, and will experience many changes.
