Psicoterapia online en el continente americano: una revisión de literatura de los años 2020 al 2025

Abstract

En el presente artículo se detalla una revisión de literatura englobada en los años 2020 al 2025 que da cuenta de la funcionalidad de la psicoterapia online, el enfoque terapéutico y tipo de trastorno abordado, así como las ventajas, limitaciones y/o dificultades de la psicoterapia en el ámbito virtual y las perspectivas futuras que se tienen de este abordaje psicológico digital. Con base en un sistema de búsqueda tipo booleano y con parámetros de categorías analíticas, se constituyó un corpus de estudio de 15 artículos, recuperados de dos bases de datos: Scopus y Redalyc, los que fueron seleccionados de manera ordenada bajo criterios de inclusión y exclusión esquematizados particularmente para esta revisión. Entre los hallazgos sobresalientes se distingue la eficacia de la funcionalidad de la psicoterapia online en el continente americano, con más prominencia en la parte sur; los trastornos más abordados fueron la depresión y ansiedad y se evidencia como el enfoque terapéutico más empleado, en este ámbito virtual, a la Terapia Cognitivo Conductual (TCC); además, se halló que uno de los principales dilemas son el desarrollo de la ética y profesionalización psicológica en esta modalidad
