Investigative Skills and Pedagogical Strategies: A Study in Public Institutions of La Estrella Municipality, Antioquia, Colombia

In a world where information is abundant and rapidly changing, the ability to investigate critically and systematically is crucial for academic and professional success. Therefore, the objective of this study was to explain the relationship between the investigative skills of students and the teaching strategies employed by teachers in the tenth grade of public educational institutions in the municipality of La Estrella, Antioquia, Colombia. The study was approached from the perspective of the holistic comprehension of science, using the holopraxic method. It is an explanatory study with a field design, contemporary cross-sectional, multievent, and non-experimental. A intentional sample of 300 tenth-grade students participated; the research techniques used were observation through an estimation scale and a survey through a questionnaire. The results indicated that students have a low level of investigative skills and believe that their teachers moderately use specific teaching strategies for the development of these skills. The correlation between these events was significant, positive, and moderate, allowing the conclusion that the development of students' investigative skills depends, to some extent, on the teaching strategies employed by teachers.
