Economics of Alternative Beef Cattle Genotype and Management/Marketing Systems

Abstract

Two questions commonly raised by cow-calf producers are, “What type of beef animal is most profitable?†and “Can profits be increased by maintaining ownership of calves through the stocker and feeding stages?†These two questions are highly interrelated as performance in cow-calf stage carries over into the Dostweanine staees.
