Determinantes del rendimiento acadŽmico de la educaci—n media en Ecuador

Abstract

En este art’culo se analizan los determinantes demogr‡ficos, fisiol—gicos, socioecon—micos, culturales, acadŽmicos y psicol—gicos que inciden en el rendimiento acadŽmico de los estudiantes que rindieron el examen Ser Bachiller en el periodo lectivo 2016-2017. Adem‡s, se describe el origen, evoluci—n y aplicaci—n de los ex‡menes psicomŽtricos a nivel nacional e internacional. Para observar el efecto que tienen los mencionados factores en el rendimiento acadŽmico, se construye un modelo economŽtrico de regresi—n log’stica que muestra la magnitud y la relaci—n de las principales variables que determinan el rendimiento acadŽmico de los estudiantes de Educaci—n Media en Ecuador. En este sentido, se observa que los factores que m‡s inciden en el rendimiento acadŽmico de los estudiantes de Educaci—n Media son el costo de la preparaci—n propedŽutica previo a rendir el examen Ser Bachiller (11,42% mayor) y la manifestaci—n, por parte del estudiante, de tener una percepci—n de control interno y responsabilidad personal (10,61% mayor).
