La investigación econométrica mediante paneles de datos:historia, modelos y usos en México

Abstract

Mostramos una introducción a hacia la historia de la econometría de panel, los modelos más comunes y sus usos en el contexto mexicano. En la primera parte, se muestra la evolución de la econometría de panel desde el siglo XIX hasta principios del siglo XXI. En la segunda parte se describen los modelos con efectos fijos, aleatorios y dinámicos. En las partes subsecuentes, se muestran algunas tendencias sobre los estudios que han usado paneles de datos y sobre el uso de los modelos en ciertas áreas del conocimiento (ciencias sociales, macroeconomía, microeconomía, economía internacional, finanzas privadas, finanzas públicas). Se analizan estas tendencias usando los artículos incluidos en la hemeroteca REDALYC para el periodo 2000-2013.
