Revenus de travail et rendement des attributs linguistiques au Québec en 2005 et depuis 1970

Abstract

This paper presents original results on the returns to language skills for men and women on the Quebec labour market for 2005 using 2006 Census data. We then compare these results to those obtained over the 1970-2000 period. One of the main findings for 2005 is that bilingualism increases the labour income for all language groups. When we compare results over time, we find that the historical advantage (1970) of Anglophones no longer exists in Quebec in 2005.
