The Role of Space in Economic Research

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to underline the role of space (understood as geographical location, neighborhood, distance between spatial units) in economic research. This article presents selected theories from disciplines such as spatial economy, new economic geography and regional science that gave an inspiration for development of contemporary spatial analysis methods and models.
