Abstract

This article analyzes the geopolitical and strategic intelligence factors that the State of Colombia has in its role with NATO as a global partner and maximum non-NATO ally of the United States. This, from the approach of offensive realism and the theorization of the Heartland in the Caribbean in which Colombia confronts the adversaries of the Atlantic Alliance For this reason, the study qualitatively investigates the historical phenomenon of international cooperation with NATO and the transnational understanding of the world amid growing conflicts in Europe. Through the geostrategic case study, results are obtained that allow us to understand Colombia's geopolitical position in the Western world, and mainly in the Caribbean, in relation to the United. The study concludes that Colombia is strategically aligning itself with the North Atlantic bloc, seeking to strengthen its position as NATO's only Global Partner in Latin America in the face of tensions and crises in the international system.
