Determinantes de la participación en el mercado de trabajo. Un estudio para el área metropolitana de Pasto

Abstract

El presente documento explora cuales son los principales determinantes que influyen al momento de ofrecer la fuerza de trabajo en el mercado laboral del área metropolitana de Pasto. El trabajo tiene como soporte teórico el modelo Ocio Consumo y como método de estimación empírico el modelo tipo Logit. La fuente de información se toma de la Encuesta Continua de Hogares (ECH) del DANE, segundo trimestre de 2006. Los determinantes de la participación laboral ropuestos en el modelo son: género, jefe de hogar, educación, experiencia, estrato social y los ingresos del cónyuge. Como principal resultado se encuentra que los estratos socioeconómicos bajos participan significativamente más que los estratos medios, la diferencia entre los estratos bajos y altos no es significativa.
