La productividad del sector servicios en Pasto

Abstract

En este artículo, a través del modelo shift share, se cuantifica el aporte relativo de cada una de las ramas al crecimiento de la productividad del sector servicios en el Municipio de Pasto, durante el período 2005 – 2009, basado en datos de Cuentas Económicas del Municipio, Matriz de Empleo y GEIH del DANE. Este cálculo permite confirmar que, en efecto, las actividades que presentan débiles aumentos, o incluso tasas negativas de crecimiento de su productividad, se destacan por la capacidad de generar empleo, lo cual da pie para que la ocupación en el sector servicios se concentre cada vez más en ramas de actividad cuya eficiencia laboral es menos dinámica. Este comportamiento ha dado lugar a que el crecimiento de la productividad del sector servicios se frene e incluso disminuya y en consecuencia, la del conjunto de la economía.
