Mujeres rurales y participación social: análisis del asociacionismo femenino en la provincia de Granada (Espana)

Abstract

Las asociaciones de mujeres han adquirido un significativo desarrollo en el ámbito rural andaluz. Aquíanalizamos su alcance y características en la provincia de Granada, examinamos sus objetivos y actividades,así como los perfiles y motivaciones de sus asociadas. La investigación se sustenta en la encuesta arepresentantes de estas asociaciones junto a grupos focales. Estas asociaciones constituyen un afianzado actorlocal, canalizador de diversidad de intereses y acciones colectivas, que opera como núcleos de participacióny empoderamiento de las mujeres rurales. Se configuran además como una importante fuente de bienestar,apoyo mutuo y capital social compensadora de los más escasos recursos de la población involucrada.Sin embargo, obstáculos económicos, estructurales y de adaptación a las nuevas tecnologías limitansu funcionamiento.
