Percepción de rendimientos y externalidades negativas del crecimiento en la migración interna

Abstract

En este artículo se presentan los conceptos percepción de rendimientos y externalidades negativas del crecimiento como dos nodos de análisis para explicar la migración interna que ocurre fuera del patrón rural-urbano. La discusión que se presenta es que resulta necesario analizar el crecimiento poblacional resultante de movimientos poblacionales en zonas semiurbanas, metropolitanas, rurales integradas o semintegradas, yendo más allá de la interpretación de motivaciones que se explican por opciones potenciales en el mercado laboral y los ingresos. Esta formulación vuelve sobre la explicación costos-beneficios, pero los costos son explicados por una causalidad asociada a las externalidades negativas del crecimiento, que, al ser percibidas por los migrantes como obstáculos para alcanzar metas de bienestar y calidad de vida, buscan alternativas que les generen mayores rendimientos para esos propósitos.
