Oferta productiva del cacao colombiano en el posconflicto. Estrategias para el aprovechamiento de oportunidades comerciales en el marco del acuerdo comercial Colombia-Unión Europea

Abstract

El objetivo del artículo es plantear estrategias mediante las cuales el cacao colombiano se aproveche a partir del posconf licto, teniendo como referencia el Acuerdo de Integración Colombia-Unión Europea. Este es un estudio de tipo cualitativo y tres tipos de análisis: uno del contexto en la producción y comercialización del cacao a escala mundial; uno comparativo, con miras a identificar aspectos relevantes presentes en los proyectos desarrollados por países pertenecientes a la Organización Internacional del Cacao, y un diagnóstico de algunos de los problemas que tiene la producción y comercialización del cacao en Colombia, lo cual permitió plantear cinco estrategias básicas aplicables en el contexto del posconflicto. Colombia no es un gran productor de cacao, pero si emplea ventajas comparativas, como la calidad del suelo, y aplica ventajas competitivas, como la multifuncionalidad y la innovación, tiene posibilidades de ingresar a la Unión Europea.
