La eficiencia en la provisión de servicios públicos en salud y sus fallos de mercado

Abstract

En el presente documento se contemplan los fundamentos teóricos, las diferentes controversias al rededordel servicio de salud y sus concepciones adoptadas desde las hipótesis relacionadas con laeficiencia del mercado en la provisión de un servicio considerado como público y sus consecuentesfallos de mercado. Entre los fallos más relevantes el autor considera que al delegarse al mercado el serviciopúblico de salud en Colombia se originaron: fallos en la competencia, ex ternalidades, bienes yservicios preferentes, asimetría y redistribución, entre otros.
