El comportamiento de la oferta de trabajo en Colombia durante las u?ltimas tres de?cadas ha estado estrechamente relacionado con feno?menos demogra?ficos: el proceso de urbanizacio?n, los cambios en la educacio?n y la incorporacio?n de la mujer a la fuerza laboral. La tasa global de participacio?n laboral en las 7 a?reas metropolitanas ma?s importantes se ha incrementado significativamente al pasar de 46% en 1976 a 62,3% en 2004
