Análisis bayesiano en evaluación económica en salud

Abstract

La evaluación económica es una herramienta que, mediante la comparación de los costos y beneficios de los diferentes programas y servicios de salud, proporciona información para determinar cuáles merecen mayor prioridad. Al tiempo que se consolida la evaluación económica como apoyo para las decisiones en salud, también aumenta la necesidad de incorporar toda la evidencia disponible y relevante para resolver los requerimientos de los gobiernos en lo referente a asignación prioritaria en salud. Para hacer frente a estas necesidades, se ha propuesto el enfoque bayesiano para la evaluación de tecnologías médicas, el cual, además de facilitar la incorporación de toda la evidencia disponible, proporciona una interpretación más natural de las expresiones de probabilidad, refleja la forma en la cual piensan las personas, y permite manejar modelos complejos, por lo cual se ajusta adecuadamente al proceso de toma de decisiones.
