Mujer, fertilidad y economía: cincuenta anos de investigación

Abstract

Resumen: En el presente artículo se muestran los resultados de una revisión sistemática de la literatura científica sobre la relación entre fertilidad y economía, que explora los marcos teóricos y empíricos desarrollados en los últimos cincuenta anos, en especial, del enfoque clásico (Becker, Easterling) y del heterodoxo (Bongaarts, Iannaccone, Lehrer). La búsqueda de artículos científicos en revistas de economía, sociología y demografía indexadas en bases de datos (JSTOR, ScienceDirect, EBSCOhost y Proquest), muestra que el estudio de los comportamientos del hogar, relacionados con las decisiones de participar en el mercado laboral y la fertilidad, es un vasto campo de confluencia de diversos intentos analíticos multidisciplinarios, mediante los cuales la economía ha enfocado el asunto.
