Economía política de América del sur: dinámica y coyuntura

Abstract

Resumen: el presente artículo hace una descripción y un balance de la dinámica y coyuntura de la economía política de América del Sur. Muestra la situación actual como resultado de la confluencia de factores económicos y políticos y clasifica a los países de Suramérica en tres grupos: los estados mercado céntricos, que defienden el modelo económico neoliberal; los estados reformistas en lo social, que aunque respetan las leyes del mercado y de la democracia, buscan mejorar las condiciones de la población a través de reformas económicas; y los estados de economía comandada, donde los gobiernos a través de decretos intervienen en la asignación y distribución de recursos como mecanismo para mejorar su situación. En la parte final presenta una serie de retos que los sistemas políticos del Cono Sur enfrentarán en los próximos anos.
