Análisis del entorno nacional e internacional de la economía colombiana en 2007-2008: coyuntura y perspectivas

Abstract

Resumen: la economía colombiana en 2007 crece, por segundo ano consecutivo, a una excelente tasa del 7,5%. Sus principales motores de expansión siguen estando liderados por los sectores productivos tradicionales y por el fuerte crecimiento de la demanda interna. Pese a esto, las mayores presiones inflacionarias registradas durante todo el ano llevaron al incumplimiento de la meta establecida por el Banco de la República con una tasa de 5,7%, cifra superior en 1,2 puntos al límite máximo del intervalo establecido. En este sentido, la necesidad de reducir la inflación por la vía del alza en la tasa de interés, comprometió el papel de la política monetaria y cambiaria aumentando la inestabilidad del tipo de cambio. Junto con lo anterior, el complejo panorama internacional que caracterizó a la economía del país desde mediados de 2007, al igual que los riesgos derivados del clima político entre Colombia y Venezuela, se convertirán en factores determinantes que caracterizarán las perspectivas económicas en 2008.
