Luchando infructuosamente contra la hidra: un modelo sencillo del narcotráfico

Abstract

En este artículo se presenta un modelo sencillo delnarcotráfico que incorpora los riesgos de esta actividad. Elmodelo contribuye a explicar dos características notablesdel narcotráfico: la generación de ganancias extraordinariasy la gran capacidad de reproducción en condiciones deprohibición y represión. El modelo genera una relacióndirecta entre la represión a la oferta -la estrategiadominante de lucha contra el narcotráfico- y lascaracterísticas mencionadas.
