Informalidad laboral en la ciudad de Cali: un análisis desde la econometría espacial

Abstract

Dada la persistente alta informalidad en Colombia, este artículo estudia la relación entre la localización residencial de los trabajadores informales en Cali y la informalidad laboral intraurbana. Se utilizan microdatos de la Encuesta de Empleo y Calidad de Vida 2012/2013, para estimar modelos de dependencia espacial sobre regiones analíticas homogéneas y con validez estadística. Los resultados muestran patrones de segregación espacial: zonas con menores niveles educativos y mayor proporción de afrocolombianos concentran gran cantidad de trabajadores informales y revelan una asociación positiva entre vivir cerca al lugar de trabajo y la precariedad laboral. Lo anterior permite focalizar políticas de formación educativa, formalización laboral y fortalecimiento del transporte público como estrategias para reducir las barreras de movilidad social e integración laboral.
