    Societățile bazate pe cunoaștere generează o serie de transformări care necesită o reevaluare a practicilor tradiționale în ceea ce privește managementul resurselor umane. Noul tip de angajaţi, specialiştii în cunoştinţe, sunt indivizi complexi care sunt foarte conștienţi de valoarea lor şi prin urmare, mult mai greu de satisfăcut la locul de muncă. În acest context, atragerea și menținerea acestora în organizații devine în fiecare zi o misiune tot mai grea, iar îndeplinirea acesteia depinde de practica managementului relaţiilor cu talentele.
