Immigrés qualifiés : des compétences qui favorisent l’innovation

Abstract

La contribution des travailleurs immigrés qualifiés à l’innovation a été bien établie dans de nombreux pays. Jusqu’à présent, ce lien n’a que peu été mis en évidence en France. Or, en mesurant l’innovation par le nombre de brevets déposés par les entreprises, il apparaît qu’une augmentation d’un point de pourcentage de travailleurs immigrés qualifiés dans un département français permet aux entreprises de ce département de déposer 5,2 % de brevets supplémentaires. Ce phénomène s’explique par une réaffectation des tâches plus que par un remplacement des travailleurs nationaux par des immigrés. Ce résultat fournit un argument supplémentaire, s’il en fallait un, pour que la France progresse en matière d’immigration qualifiée.
