Die Berglandwirtschaft in Österreich – Aufgaben, Leistungen und notwendige Rahmenbedingungen

Abstract

Die Berggebiete und die Berglandwirtschaft sind global, aber auch in der Europäischen Union von großer Bedeutung. Mit einem Anteil von 70% an der Landesfläche haben sie in Österreich einen besonderen Stellenwert. Die Berglandwirtschaft ist mit ihrer Erfüllung von vielfältigen Aufgaben ein gutes Beispiel für eine multifunktonale Landwirtschaft. Sie ist allerdings unter den gegenwärtigen Rahmenbedingungen auf spezifische Förderungen angewiesen. In diesem Beitrag werden die Aufgaben, Leistungen und Erwartungen der Bevölkerung an die zukünftige Berglandwirtschaft am Beispiel eines breiten Beteiligungsprozesses in Vorarlberg dokumentiert. Anschließend werden die Eckpunkte und Rahmenbedingungen einer positiven Zukunftsstrategie der Berglandwirtschaft im 21. Jahrhundert zur Diskussion gestellt.
