Abbau der kalten Progression seit 2016: Zwischenbilanz und Ausblick

Abstract

Die Entlastung der Steuerzahler durch den Abbau der kalten Progression im Zehnjahreszeitraum 2016 bis 2025 beträgt insgesamt 131 Mrd. Euro; einschließlich des laufenden Jahres 2026 werden es voraussichtlich 171 Mrd. Euro sein. Der Abbau der kalten Progression ist ein großer Erfolg. Er sollte jedoch gesetzlich abgesichert werden, indem eine quasiautomatische Tarifindexierung durch einen „Tarif auf Rädern“ eingeführt wird. Vergleichbare rechtliche Indexierungsautomatismen bestehen bereits in anderen Bereichen. Für Deutschland wäre eine zumindest einzelgesetzliche Verankerung eines „Tarifs auf Rädern“ der konsequente nächste Schritt zum dauerhaften Abbau der kalten Progression im Einkommensteuertarif.
