Strukturwandel im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe: Produktbegleitende Dienstleistungen gewinnen an Bedeutung

Abstract

In den vergangenen Jahrzehnten haben immer mehr Industrieunternehmen ihre Geschäftsmodelle vom reinen Verkauf selbsthergestellter Waren um verschiedene produktbegleitende Dienstleistungen, wie Beratung, Montage, Reparatur und Wartung oder Daten- und Softwarepakete, erweitert. Dies zeigen Sonderfragen in den ifo Konjunkturumfragen. Demnach übersteigt der Umsatz des Verarbeitenden Gewerbes mit diesen Dienstleistungen mit schätzungsweise 182 Mrd. Euro im Jahr 2024 inzwischen sogar den Umsatz des gesamten Gastgewerbes in Deutschland. Im Maschinenbau, Fahrzeugbau und Elektrogewerbe kommen produktbegleitende Dienstleistungen besonders häufig zum Tragen. Vor allem bei jungen Industrieunternehmen mit einer hohen Innovationstätigkeit ist der Anteil des Umsatzes mit produktbegleitenden Dienstleistungen hoch und hat in den vergangenen zehn Jahren deutlich zugelegt.
