Abstract

Donald Trumps Wende in der amerikanischen Wirtschaftspolitik ist atemberaubend. Mit Importzöllen in bisher unvorstellbarer Höhe hat Trump einen handfesten Handelskrieg angezettelt. Darüber hinaus übt er Druck auf die amerikanische Zentralbank aus, weil ihm die gegenwärtige Geldpolitik nicht expansiv genug ist. Im vorliegenden Aufsatz untersuchen wir, wie US-Wirtschaftsexperten die Wirtschaftspolitik unter Donald Trump bewerten. Wir verwenden Daten aus dem Economic Experts Survey (EES) des ifo Instituts. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass sich die Einschätzungen der Experten zur Wirtschaftspolitik und politischen Lage seit Trumps Wahlsieg im November 2024 drastisch verschlechtert haben.
