Abstract

Europa sollte für künftige Pandemien Pläne für ein effektiveres Krisenmanagement entwickeln. Mobilitätsbeschränkungen über nationale Grenzen hinweg und gesundheitspolitische Maßnahmen sollten besser koordiniert werden, um etwa vorhandene Krankenhauskapazitäten gemeinsam nutzen zu können. Um europäische Interessen auf globaler Ebene angemessen zu vertreten, sollte Europa eine eigenständige geopolitische und geoökonomische Strategie verfolgen. Zudem sollte die EU die wirtschaftliche Integration vorantreiben, insbesondere Hindernisse für grenzüberschreitendes wirtschaftliches Handeln abbauen, und stärkere Aktivitäten im Bereich der Bereitstellung europaweiter öffentlicher Güter entwickeln.
