A Strong Start to the Year: Investments and Leasing See Significant Growth

Abstract

The investment indicator jointly released by the ifo Institute and the Federation of German Leasing Companies, signals a weak increase in equipment investment of 0.8% in real terms and a nominal 2% increase, following last year’s increase of 2.1%. In view of the favourable economic situation in Germany and the low interest rate level, developments in investments for 2017 are not very dynamic historically.
