The European Union and the Euro in Crisis – Confidence-Building Measures for the Single Currency Needed More Urgently Than Ever!

Author

Abstract

A key building block of confidence in the ECB’s monetary policy and, by extension, in the euro is compliance with the legal rules laid down. Ralph Hirdina, Hochschule Aschaffenburg, no longer sees any such compliance in the ECB’s current measures and argues in favour of respecting the regulations set out in the European treaties.
