Nearly double-digit growth in equipment spending in 2011 – leasing keeps pace

Abstract

The Ifo investment indicator, determined jointly by the Ifo Institute and the Federal Association of German Leasing Companies and based on the expectations of the leasing companies, indicates for the current year a nominal increase in capital spending of nearly 10 percent. In the first nine months of 2012, a favourable investment climate should prevail. However, compared to the same period of 2011, the indicator points to a moderate slowdown in growth.
