Abstract

The CESifo International Spring Conference will take place on 22 and 23 March 2007. The state of the financial markets in an environment of decreasing world economic growth is the main topic of the event. What are the risk potentials after years without any appreciable crises in light of present high liquidity and the increased risk propensity of investors? Axel Bertuch-Samuels, Deputy Director of the Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund, Washington, will address this topic in his presentation, "The Challenges for Financial Markets in Slowing Global Growth?" with comments on the April 2007 IMF Financial Market Update.
