Belgien: Günstige Konjunkturentwicklung bei fortgesetzter Stabilisierung von Wirtschaft und politisch-sozialem Umfeld

    Die belgische Wirtschaft hat die westeuropäische Wachstumsflaute überraschend gut überstanden Das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt expandierte 2003 um etwa 1%. Auf dem Arbeitsmarkt verschlechterte sich die Lage aber weiterhin, und die Arbeitslosenrate stieg im Jahresdurchschnitt auf 8¼% an. Die Konsumentenpreise nahmen um 1,5% zu. 2004 setzt sich die konjunkturelle Erholung fort. Das reale BIP dürfte sich um ca. 2% erhöhen, und die Arbeitslosenquote dürfte im Jahresdurchschnitt bei 8½% liegen. Die Konsumentenpreise werden vermutlich um 1½% über dem Niveau von 2003 liegen. 2005 dürfte die Wirtschaft um 2¾% wachsen. Die Arbeitslosenquote wird durchschnittlich auf 7¾% sinken, und die Lebenshaltungskosen werden sich um 1½% erhöhen.
