Abstract

The economic recovery will gain momentum according to the results of the Ifo Business Survey in November. In west German trade and industry, the business climate index has increased for the seventh time in succession. The assessments of the current business situation improved this time even more strongly than the expectations. In east Germany the rise of the business climate index was not as pronounced and is only attributable to more favourable appraisals of the business outlook.
