Electrical industry: The turnaround is in sight

Author

  • Manfred Berger

Abstract

The weak world economy in 2002 especially hindered the traditionally export oriented German electrical industry and resulted in the worst performance of the industry in 2002 since the recession of 1993. In the first half of 2003 weak demand continued in the electrical industry. In recent months incoming orders have again grown more strongly. Almost all enterprises report an improvement of the situation. The turnaround seems to be imminent, and the growth forces could gain the upper hand on a broad front.
