Verbraucherpolitik aus der Sicht der Wissenschaft

In seinem Vortrag, gehalten am 4. September 2003 beim verbraucherpolitischen Kongress der SPD-Bundestagsfraktion, plädiert Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Werner Sinn für eine Verbraucherschutzpolitik, die verstärkt auf Aufklärung setzt. Sinnvoll wäre es, wenn sich der Staat in stärkerem Umfang der Stiftung Warentest, des TÜV und ähnlicher Institutionen bedienen würde. Allerdings sollten nicht nur nationale Qualitätsstandards, sondern auch - durch die EU - harmonisierte Standards festgelegt und durch bessere Informationssysteme, die im nationalen Alleingang eingerichtet werden können, ergänzt werden.
